WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Falcons add two for 2008

MONTEVALLO (7/23) – The University of
Montevallo volleyball team has added two student-athletes for the 2008
season, it has been announced by head coach Katie O’Brien.
Anna Garrison, a 5-4
setter/defensive specialist from LaVergne, Tenn. and Rachel Wotitzky, a 5-4
setter/defensive specialist from Punta Gorda, Florida will join the Lady
Falcon volleyball program this fall.

MONTEVALLO (7/9) -- The University
of Montevallo women's basketball team has released their 2008-09
schedule.
Included on the schedule for first-year head coach Brittney Ezell will
be a home-and-home with Delta State University, a tournament in
Arkadelphia, Ark. in addition to the Gulf South Conference East Division
schedule, which changes to a Thursday-Saturday rotation this season.
After exhibition games against Samford (Nov. 6) and UAB (Nov. 10), the
Lady Falcons begin the season hosting the annual UM Coca-Cola Classic on
Nov. 15 and 16.

ATHLETICS: Montevallo intends to apply for
Peach Belt Conference membership |

MONTEVALLO — The University of Montevallo
announced that it plans to apply for membership in the NCAA Division
II Peach Belt Conference. Montevallo, which would continue to compete in the
15-team Gulf South Conference during the coming year, would begin play as
the 12th member of the Peach Belt Conference in the fall of 2009, pending
approval of its application for membership. The decision reflects
Montevallo's continued commitment to its student-athletes and the growing
regional reputation of the University.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Hodges named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
MONTEVALLO (7/8) -- Marvis Hodges has been appointed as Assistant
Coach for the women’s basketball program at the University of Montevallo, it
has been announced by athletic director Jim Herlihy and women’s basketball
head coach Brittney Ezell.

announced. They become the first two signees for new head women’s
basketball coach Brittney Ezell.
Aurelie Derenoncourt (5-9,
Louisville, Ky.), and Alicia
Lewis
(5-6, Youngsville, La.) will join
the Lady Falcons this fall.

ATHLETICS: Kojima named Coordinator of Special Projects for
Athletics
MONTEVALLO -- Alfred Kojima has been named coordinator of special projects
for the University of Montevallo Athletic Department, it was announced
Monday, June 30. Kojima, who has spent the past eight years as the school’s
sports information director, will begin his new duties immediately.
