The New Protocol
The new protocol for network passwords goes into effect on March 12, 2008 at 7:00 am. It requires that all network passwords expire after 180 days. In selecting a new password, you must choose one that meets the following parameters:
The new protocol also includes a provision for previously used passwords to be reused after one cycle. In addition, your account will be locked after ten consecutive failed attempts to login should you forget your password.
Which Password Am I Changing?
PC users will change the password they user to login to their computers every morning. Mac users will change the password they use to login to their email. NOTE: Your Admin passwords (the password used to access SIS, PLUS, Reflections) are not affected by the new protocol.
Special note: Please be sure to close Outlook (PC users ) or Entourage (Mac users) before changing your password on the next page to avoid the possibility of locking your account. Change Your Password
Click this link to go to the Change Your Password page. It has fields for you to enter your UM login name, old password and new password. You will need to enter your new password a second time to confirm it. When you have entered your information in each field, click the Change Password button to change your password. You will then need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Remember to close Outlook (PC users) or Entourage (Mac users) before clicking the Change Password button.
